    The one missing essential track is my personal favorite King song, "Platform One". `Bitter Sweet' was a much stronger album than `Steps in Time', and could have been the start of a great run of albums. Unfortunately, after `Bitter Sweet' failed to make an impact in the U.S., Paul King split the band and decided to do the solo thing/5(51).

    Bitter Sweet is precisely more of the same. (In fact, the American edition includes “Won’t You Hold My Hand Now” for the second time!) Ex-Member Adrian Lillywhite plays the drums, resulting in some improvement in that area, but King (the singer)’s overbearing, tuneless vocals still dominate the band’s unpleasant sound.

    King's debut album, Steps In Time, is an entertaining collection of new wave dance-pop, highlighted by the single "Love & Pride."Nothing else on the record quite matches "Love & Pride" in terms of energy or hooks, but the album still makes for entertaining listening, provided you are a new wave aficionado.
